But I do want to issue a serious health warning for this particular list - too much of this kind of music can rot your brain.

Government health guidelines advise taking an auditory break after ONE hours working on this list. TAKE CARE

Thank you. Yes. Quite right. Believe it or not, I have been to a garden centre today and bought a Christmas tree.

Some strange cross-currents with work at the moment. I bought the tree with vouchers - my leaving gift from two years ago. One of your links is to Bebel Gilberto who I first heard when queuing to buy coffee in the work canteen. And a manager at work recorded Shelby Lynn onto disk for me - the only disk in my racks I've never purchased. The picture on the box is of Robert Plant!

On the 1001, I have the albums separated with horizontal lines and pictures of them all on the left hand side. No other list is like it. How can I change it to a more conventional setting please? As it is, it is quite tough to work with.

I think if you go up to the top, then along to the VIEW pull-down you may well have ticked the View as Album List option. Untick it. Don't even think about ticking it again.
If not then we will once again have to inculcate the bi-optional dump storage in a form of hexadecimal, taking it in flight.
        thereby immanentising the eschaton.
        I'll leave it there.

Excellent. Thanks. I tried your VIEW option and also applied Boltzmann's constant. One worked.

Don't ask me which. None of the microscopically specifiable effects were fully or exactly predictable from the macroscopic specification of the initial condition of the process.

(Incidentally, SL and AM have had very difficult lives and deserve credit for their achievements)

I believe this is now complete.
It has a couple of spares.
A bit like our dear Royal Family.

I would very much like that Johnny Dowd track to remain in last place. I am sure good Johnny would be delighted.

Is anyone out there ready for another, or shall we leave it till the New Year? The topic?

Well, this image may contain a subtle clue...

Yes, very good. I couldn't take it any further and recognise I might need to remove six. The alternative option is to wait until six drop off naturally. A new list would be good as these short days feel never ending. Great picture but I can't guess the new topic.

I'm creating a Xmas playlist, dipping heavily into our 1001'ish motherlode.
So,as usual, thanks for the contribs.
Couple of challenges I'd appreciate your thoughts on.
*' I've had a special request to include some songs from something called Wand Erection. I will, but would like to add some tracks which may gently subvert such tastes. And what may those tracks be?
                      * this year one of our visitors is from Brazil - what would they traditionally listen to in the festive season I wonder?

Yes Wand Erection fans can produce extreme flatulence during this particular season if their wishes are not met - just put on James Brown and tell them they've changed erection - usually works for me.
On your other issue I haven't the faintest but am particularly enjoying this Christmas joy normally reserved for elevators -

any sign of this emanating from any emporium in Dundee today and I'm in there, G.

Further to my recent post I'd particularly recommend Silver Bells, by the way.

Good call JC thanks - have plumped for Silent Night so far, but can see a few more of those going in.

And actually http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAQZRsAtxQI also works - there is generally some capering going on.

Assumed it was a Spinal Tap band until the penny dropped and wouldn't be able to name a song by them. In fact, I used to think my NDN was in OD - wand erection - but it was another level. Whether the other guy who lived there for a while was another member I don't know. We just advised him each week on whether it was time for the green bin collection or the blue and wheelie.

It is incredible just how many songs about Christmas emerge when one puts "tree" and "leaves" rather than "Christmas tree" into Spotify. It now seems feeble to have said that I couldn't add more after 1001. On Brazil, I guess World Cup and Olympics music.
