lee's nominated for a mercury award ....apparently, though he's not to my taste at all, but then mercury 'competitors' rarely are tbh, nor sony.

btw what do 'mercury' actually manufacture? (other than freddie)

I suspect that is why we are being subject to the relentless onslaught.
But, even though another thread has now been infected with the Samly virus, thanks - you've reminded me of another wonderful And genuinely talented Lee, old Arthur from Love.
Aloneagainor - if only eh Sam, if only.

Btw hf - how do we tempt you over to Spotify.. Fiver a month, loads of musical fun from your WM buddies past & present.

'Flee as a bird'... I suspect only you could have come up with that JC, on many different levels - eat your heart out Dame Miriam Rothschild...

oooops ......i forgot to post my preferred lee:

                stewart lee,

(even if is he is a grumpy git (immediately) after his gigs ..... comedians aren't usually a barrel of laughs off stage historically, so why might lee be any different)? at least he's funny on stage.

whereas, as a performer, imo sam lee is dull, dull, dull as....(coming through my ear hairs, coclier & drum).

This Sam, is he the progeny of Brenda and Peggy ?

                  No, that can't be.

Our favoured Lee for late night listeners would be Laura. But I suspect the soul sister is too dirty for R3.
Laura Lee, Dirty Man, Muscle Shoals Sound, Fame Studios, Rick Hall, Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section, David Hood, Jimmy Johnson

I'm thinking of a new playlist - 100 top WM tracks-ever. could do with at least 1 more poster.
PS - could that be you? Or anyone?
JC - do you fancy it?

As regards the evanescent Lat will just have to see if he thinks it's a worthy list to farm...

Sounds good to me - Paul will have a few belters up his sleeve - mind you a lot of the top tunes won't be there. Like:

I'll give a try - but I think it would be an idea to have a thread on here to mop up the unspotted items and at the same time give clear-skinned members and lurkers something to enjoy. Like John's glory, above.

Aha - well the good news is that Lat is back on here too, so maybe I'll wait for his comments.

What I neglected to explain was that I want to extract some 'right belters' for a chum of mine who has made the fatal mistake of saying
this music you listen to - some of it is quite interesting I'd like to hear more
So I'd like to blow their socks off.
Which is a strange phrase if you come to think of it.

                              Man drinking soup?

GT - Thank you for the kind words. I have been tuning in to worldly thoughts quite regularly. You have a good thing here and it definitely has the best pictures!

'100 Top WM tracks - ever' is a great idea. I had been thinking about suggesting a few more difficult topics so that the playlists would be shorter, not that this was quite what I had in mind. (See - 'Songs of the London skyline'!)

So, yes, I would like to be a contributor please.

(Incidentally, Nuts and Fruit has probably doubled since some last looked - it was very morish!)
