It's actually a mystery Lat - where do they go? I wondered if they had been withdrawn from Spotify by the music publisher (this happens from time to time) but just checked and that isn't the case. Well, I say that on the assumption that when this used to happen, the tracks used to show up, but be grayed out and unplayable. I wonder if Spotify have changed that so the tracks just disappear....
2 other alternatives I can think of:

1 Someone is deleting them - anyone who knows about the playlist can amend it. I published the Politics one via the sharemyplaylist.com website, and we did get a few subscribers that way. Why anyone would want to is beyond me. Once it is no longer collaborative it can't be edited though

2 Some kind of technical glitch. I'll check out some Spotify support forums and have a look.

Means I have an excuse for some goat images though...for example, a Retronaut patented goat-riding training device:

      Ok Lat, I've solved it.

You can either read the answer here
jlindbergh - The function to shown greyed out tracks is still available. Head into the Preferences menu, scroll down to the "Playback" tab and uncheck "Hide Unplayable Tracks". This will show the tracks that were previously available.

or just do the following in SPOTIFY to see what tracks have gone:

1 go to the EDIT tab
2 go to PREFERENCES at the bottom of that tab
3 Scroll down to the fifth section, headed PLAYBACK
4 UNCHECK the sixth option which says 'Hide unplayable tracks'

This will result in the numbers going back to their previous total - but, of course, there are now some unplayable tracks. So my first thought was correct.

      Goat ok?

Well, thank you Global King of Fascinating Pictures and Much More Besides for your diligent investigation. Very much appreciated. Although it appears that I chuck a hundred tracks on it daily without any measure or thought, each selection is very carefully chosen in accordance with a complex mathematical formula. I have a colour chart, a setsquare, a "sounds alike" thesaurus and some splendid Arthurian divining rods purchased in North Cadbury. Seasonal shifts are recorded every month on magnetophon wind chimes and my wallpaper is now excitingly scrawled with phrases in Wolof and Swahili. A valued member of the parish noted once that it takes a week to produce a good programme. He was right and wrong of course. It's the only way to be these days.

My method's not quite so erudite and organised, Lat.

I appear to have a slight problem adding, G - I've subscribed but it ain't showing collaborative.

Ah well, that was just a simple cock-up on my part.

                No pics thank you.

Lat - I prefer your wonderful explanation. Imagination beats diligence most times.

And he's going to eat them. Enjoying this brief hollow-horned ruminant diversion, I'm sure it will lead us back to music eventually.

                    And it does:
                    spotify:track:4KoHo0fLdJQWq6Wezd0uou
those Latvian bagpipes never let you down do they? (in fact I suspect that the goat may be a crucial component of same)

Oh yes. That's very good. I also like this one:

"Goats are like cows, except not as good. Goats can't do anything as good as a cow could."This short film will prove cow's ultimate supremacy over all goats....

Thanks for the MO in my inbox, Global. I'd never heard it - after the ubiquity of The Bells I had mistakenly, it would appear, dismissed it as unsuitable listening - very enjoyable. Hadn't heard your Durante either - most enjoyable.

                          OO - it's at 500.

is this a good place to stop? just checking...& quite proud how I got that tribute track from Renato Carosone in there. (and I'm sure Oilrig will insert a tribute too)
And, by the way, I'm drawing your attention to Paul Buchanan, my miserabilist of the week...but oddly hypnotic.

And any track which has the lead singer saying to the spoons player
'Let me hear that EPNS, Fred'
has to be included doesn't it?

I often think that George Martin was wasted when JPG&R came calling - maybe sidetracked is a better term - that bit of Sellers remains one of my absolute faves. Of course then we probably wouldn't have got this!
Peter Sellers performs 'A Hard Day's Night' by The Beatles, in the style of Laurence Olivier's interpretation of Richard III.

I'm really enjoying this Chain - it's got a good feel to it.

Who'd have thought there were 2 reasonable tracks called Onomatopoeia?
