1000000 songs from SPOTIFY about...

We do round numbers and then things drop from the lists. Politics for example. It gets my goat sometimes.

It's actually a mystery Lat - where do they go? I wondered if they had been withdrawn from Spotify by the music publisher (this happens from time to time) but just checked and that isn't the case. Well, I say that on the assumption that when this used to happen, the tracks used to show up, but be grayed out and unplayable. I wonder if Spotify have changed that so the tracks just disappear....
2 other alternatives I can think of:

or just do the following in SPOTIFY to see what tracks have gone:

1 go to the EDIT tab
2 go to PREFERENCES at the bottom of that tab
3 Scroll down to the fifth section, headed PLAYBACK
4 UNCHECK the sixth option which says 'Hide unplayable tracks'

This will result in the numbers going back to their previous total - but, of course, there are now some unplayable tracks. So my first thought was correct.

Well, thank you Global King of Fascinating Pictures and Much More Besides for your diligent investigation. Very much appreciated. Although it appears that I chuck a hundred tracks on it daily without any measure or thought, each selection is very carefully chosen in accordance with a complex mathematical formula. I have a colour chart, a setsquare, a "sounds alike" thesaurus and some splendid Arthurian divining rods purchased in North Cadbury. Seasonal shifts are recorded every month on magnetophon wind chimes and my wallpaper is now excitingly scrawled with phrases in Wolof and Swahili. A valued member of the parish noted once that it takes a week to produce a good programme. He was right and wrong of course. It's the only way to be these days.

I often think that George Martin was wasted when JPG&R came calling - maybe sidetracked is a better term - that bit of Sellers remains one of my absolute faves. Of course then we probably wouldn't have got this!
