Lat, while I would take issue with your assertion of spring as 'Nights are Longer', your 'Pneumatic Road Drill' was inspired.

Thank you John. When this topic was mentioned, I thought immediately of the Farley Flower Band. Some months ago I found "The Flower Song and Tree Song Album" which was released by them last year.
From my point of view, this is arguably the finest concept for a concept album that there has ever been. Arguably it is also the most dire and laughably ludicrous cd in recording history.
It was difficult to decide which of the 83 tracks to choose for our list. I have gone for "Oh, Oh Daffodil" although it was a close run thing with "An Iris Flower Song For All to Enjoy and Appreciate!", "Petunia, Oh Yeah, Petunia Flower, Yeah!" and "Azalea, Azaleas, Oh Sweet Azalea, How About It? I Like it a Lot!"
I think I am going to have to buy it actually. Its blimmin' awesome!

Is it me or is this Spring list one of the most odd we have ever had? It seems to be waiting to get going properly even though we are well over a hundred toons. It is up to you folks but I think it should be kept open for a while to see where it goes if anywhere. It would just be too easy to say 150 and that's it.

It's been a fine spring-ish day, so I thought I'd brush off the old cassette and take a couple of old Andy shows out with me - he got me through an hour and a half of hard graft and I thought I'd share some of them old favourites with anyone who fancied a listen. I'm heading out there after a spot of tea, , so this short list could get longer.

I've been busy at work, are we doing a spring theme now?
I will try to contribute when I get time!

John - Thank you for the link. I very much like the apparent simplicity of that Modeste Hugues track.Last edited by Guest; 29-02-12, 22:48.

or this way...
Obviously we can't have too much Eartha Kitt, but I do think we are allowed one or two, and I have added a real oddity brought to my attention by my DJ (amongst other things) son-in-law who is discovering the joys of a certain kind of music...

Hey Lat & JC (and any other contributors regular or occasional) - it seems Spring has run its course over in Spooty-land and settled on 236 ...so, as I know that, like me, you are both men of the soil from time-to-time I was wondering about the theme of Gardening.
Or is that too similar to Spring?
Way things are going this'll be happening again, a mere 71 years after last time..

I did find a koto track that I'd like to add to it sometime if he doesn't. That splendid DL-L was on "Coast". I think it might have run to Rottingdean. On a windy day, golf balls from one of the pitch n putt courses might have reached it - if not from the windmill course, then probably Roedean.
And Gardening is launched...hope you all dig it.
Daddy Long-Legs: bits of track are still there...I never saw it myself but have been on one similar. We used to live a few yards away from the windmill course - there is a lift from the road down to the 'beach'; antiquated and open at obscure hours.
Those gels at Roedean - did they really play that much golf?
