This is probably as good a place as any to say that I've spent the afternoon mainly listening to the contents of my Spotify inbox - it makes a great playlist.

        Thanks.

This is so genuine I'll even spare you a pic...

For just a few days to get us through this sticky patch in the year, an invite to share some songs of love; some songs of hate; and of course some songs of love and hate.

Thank you for doing this JC. More a stressful, emotional, rollercoaster ride than a sticky patch in recent days what with parental health issues. Slightly better news today, albeit tentative. Each day this week will bring something new. Still, some of the snow is clearing thank goodness.

Still a few more days to enter your chansons d'amour etc over on spotty, should you feel so inclined.

I am holding back because I don't want to hog it. Well done for getting Charlotte Halleux on board.

Is that good Lat? I'm sure there's more out there just waiting, just waiting.

She was in a famous programme with her twin sister.

God Moaning. The resist-once have accqo-aired a bum. They are going to ex-plod the whaleway brodge.

Your Memphis Minnie was number 201. Then Global added seven. Now we have 204. I don't understand and would welcome enlightenment.

Incidentally, there aren't many great songs about hate. Love fares a little better and certainly makes it worthwhile but you can't beat a good lyric about cauliflowers, hovercraft, and wildebeeste.

Charlotte Halleux - probably came on board because I shared the playlist at sharemyplaylist.com on 14th Feb.
I suspect it was the only playlist to include songs of love AND hate to be posted on that day.

Now, there might be fewer songs about hate, but they tend to pack a mighty punch.
I'm thinking, for example, of Elvis Costello 'Tramp the dirt down' and Diana Jones 'If I had a gun' - both heartfelt.
There are others on that playlist too (Inglan is a bitch).
maybe not purely hate, but that emotion is in there.
That there Linton Kwesi Johnson is bang on the money today,

I've added links to live performances for non-Spotty people.

                      Enlightenment - here it comes.
I ordered by track title and removed the duplicates (about 11)
Then went back to work (added 7)...Apologies for any confusion

Oh thank the Lord. Something human. Not a problem at all. Thanks for doing it. I am surprised that there were so many duplicates. I try to check as I go along so as not to double up but probably don't do so in every case.

Well I feel like a bit of a shirker what with all the great things you put in there - I'll blame my wirelessless weekend. Still 300 songs and 20hours seemed a good place to stop for the moment.

                            Nicely done, JC, Nicely done.

At this time of year Spring can creep up on us and catch us unawares - green shoots burst forth from slowly-warming black earth as the sap somehow knows it is time to rise, leaves start to unfold, birds flit busily about driven by the need to nest, insects start to appear after a season spent hidden in nooks and crannies, sometimes we even get a few days of unseasonably warm weather.

Sometimes we look back and realise that was summer.
Anyway before Spring springs, I thought we'd jump in with that quite tricky theme Spring.
This shouldn't be every song with the word 'Spring' in the title - there aren't that many, but all those either about or which suggest that most welcome of seasons.

And while you're out there fighting nature, remember...

What a fantastic advert. That picture is just the kind of thing I like.

Yes it has arrived. I have crocuses. I've heard my first road drilling of the season.

I will sign up immediately to Spring on Spot.
