Spot on Lat. I'm sure I remember our accountant Brian 1, advising us to forget Dr John who might have been at the
right place but was in the wrong time and groove to the guitar boy superstar instead.

( nb. We've had 3 accountants. All named Brian )

Well as we know those coincidences just keep on running - I drive past Tilleys Vintage Magazines most mornings on the way to work.
        Spooky kind of place.
In the wrong kind of place.

But never drive past it on the way back.

Next playlist just about ready - I am, as they say, one track short of a playlist.

Lat - post of the month award.

        Your prize:

Thanks GT. That looks like a must have. The headquarters of Ann Summers is three miles from here. It makes its presence known with a sign the size of two stockbrokers' houses. I believe beforehand it was in different hands and more about videos.

This is absolutely no lie. At that time - the 1980s - I knew a young woman who worked in the Minister's office. We got on well and she would speak with some affection but also disapprovingly of her father, a senior police officer in the area.

The place in Whyteleafe was raided for alleged prostitution. I must emphasise here for legal reasons that it wasn't then owned by Ann Summers. Anyway, a large proportion of the vice squad was sent in, the kinds of guys her father knew professionally. They pulled one bloke out wrapped just in a towel. Embarrassingly, it was him.

That's the one. It is on a roundabout. I will get round to your lists. However, I'm now wondering who the Ovaltiners were. I am of course very familar with the Ovaltineys although to me they will always be Mum and Dad.

Thanks - I don't think I could do a coherent individual one. I haven't got much that is new and relevant to offer but I might give it a go someday.

                      Shame, but no pressure.

Here's a bit more about the Ovaltiners from a rather delightful site...
any person who writes a review that includes the immortal line
I was attracted to the odd cover which seems to depict a Latin orchestra made of pipe cleaners
                      is worth a read.
And there is a Charlie Gillett radio show on the site too, at the top level here:
A music blog , mainly featuring records and tapes found at boot sales, charity shops and flea markets. Mainly comedy, novelty and odd items that are hard to catagorise.

and you can listen to an old Bembaya Jazz LP too - I'd recommend listening to it, not downloading it but then I'm paranoid about all that dodgy download stuff. virus city.

                      Note to self: work

                              Thanks.

It judders and it's jagged. It's spiky and sporadic. It's telling the time but only kinda backwards. Its hair is in clumps that are dark black to the ear. Just get your eyes round the sides of your head mate. Take a look.

It's a bit neat in the discography, offbeat with cacophony. It smashes into a jazzy on off jaunt. It's up a ladder and in the engine with oils and swirls and kits and patches. And it ain't compromising by starting before it has learnt itself to stop.

Other than that I can't really describe it much I'm afraid.
