Have you seen Later yet? He's done a new version.

      Spilsbury Hill

      Climbing up on Spilsbury Hill
      I could see Trelawny's blight
      Moir-Pietsch knowing less than nil
      Someone called up Roger Wright

      He was nothing to preserve
      Never listened, just some voice
Bland and meddling, what a nerve
Like Mickie Most but not as choice

I did not believe the indignation
Just had to curse the Corporation

My skull going boing boing boom
"Son" he said "Here's the charts
We've got a phone in soon"

To keep from violence, I designed
A plan to show he was a nut
      Spurning standards, calling time
      On CFM and kicking butt

So I looked at Thompson's pay
      Breakfast churned inside my gut
Corn flakes flew out on the way
      Funny how that's never cut

I was feeling part of the chicanery
I walked right into the infirmary

My feet going flip flop dive
"Hey" he said "Here's the news
      It's seven forty-five".

      Disillusioned, so to net
      Spotify is where to be
      Then Verity plays "Alouette"
A later lark on Radio 3

      One bird told me etiquette
      Is age related, goodness me
I am how old? I forget
      Simon Bates is sixty-three

Today I don't need an enticement
I'll tell them what the style in this place meant
My gob going "Duran, Duran, Ole"
"Erm" I said "You can keep celebs
They've come to take me away".

Sometimes even Spotty lets you down - this is one I love by De Danann but it ain't on spotty.

I feel that there was scope for 700 more. My life feels empty now.

(What should we do next? 100 Halloween or Fireworks?)

Well I don't rightly know Lat, but if we were doing '50 songs that we'd forgotten about' I'd be getting this in at number 1. Spotted it while digging around old playlists for the Instru+mentals list - not an instrumental but it was great to hear it again. Nothing else is quite like it. (Can't whistle it either!)

Running for the next ten days Lat, at your request, 100 songs to scare you - seriously spine creeping! Actually no rules imposed apart from the usual restrictions to comply with 19a(subsection(ii)c)[amended].

Thanks JC. Very kind. I understand this to mean that we are keeping to NF Stovold’s rules but with Trumpington Variations and no application of "in Nidd".

Consequently any move to a song with "Monument" in its title would sadly mean immediate disqualification. However, one containing the word "Upminster" would simply mean that a turn would be missed on account of it being too remote. Lat.

                    no title intended

And to prove that we can do more than 1 thing at a time...

I think you'll be able to work out the theme.

There is a place for us.

Now why didn't I think of Sweet Caroline, Global?

Places is one of my favourite themes in songs.

                          Or is it 'are'?

Anyway, it seems to be a nicely mixed and fast-growing list even without the august presence of PS. (thought we may tempt him back with a free-for-all listing)

Thinking of closing 'places' and opening one called 'Winter'..anyone care in the slightest?

Or maybe not as Lat's postings have just resulted in some welcome spontaneous dancing from Mrs GT... (Mexico followed by Funky Kingston - ). Generally this playlist is much more joyous than FT's latest LJ.

(...in a few weeks time though I'll be re-sharing that 1001 Xmas tracks we did last year....)

I'm pleased that Mrs Global Truth enjoyed a few of my selections.

                                The Valkyries ride again..

Those with keen ears may realise that Cerys is playing one or two selections from our Spinecreepers playlist today... this is not a coincidence. As we know, TANC's...
