Yes, Diblo sounds like good news. The video of the crazy car has always stuck in the mind. Have occasionally had a look at that 6music forum. The dispossessed would be welcome. Had to pay £4.99 today for Spot so I will have to make it worthwhile.

I eventually relented this week too Lat. I'm not missing those ads and that flirting with the red 15 minutes.

Had a brain wave tonight - it's all avoidance of the social room in the house this evening owing to the loss of TV control by me. On some other occasion I might even finish it - by the way there's some duffers in there, but hey that's art innit.

Wow. They all look good to me.

(I have added a track from the worst 83 track cd released in 2011 - lovely concept though).

Do you think he's had a bit of Van influence on that Lat? Pretty good indeed. Anyway I'm just away to listen to Jackie Oates on Cerys.

Oh yes, Summertime in England era, I should think. Actually, I was thinking more Bond Mini Car. It has its plus points but on balance I'm not sure. Listen to "Oh, Oh , Daffodil" and one or two of the others - they are all virtually the same.

I'm going to have Cerys on listen again. I like Jackie Oates.

I was listening to Bob last night. At ten to three he announced he was going to Nashville and would not be able to do his programme for five weeks "so Ricky Ross is standing in". Delighted but also amazed. Normally, they replace Alan Titchmarsh with Zoe Ball or Chris Evans with Aled Jones. Why do they do that - stick on the least obvious temporary replacements????

Well Lat, you were predicting it only a couple of weeks back, I seem to recall. You're the kind of fellow the BBC needs - a chap with vision.

Went to the hole in the wall today and it told me that though I remain a welcome customer it would like to enter its PIN into me and withdraw a wee bit of cash to redress the balance. So in honour of this I decided to draw a veil over the Reasons to be Cheerful for the time being.......then i heard about Liam Fox and wondered if I was being a bit hasty.

Thought we could try one about Instrumentals but feel that it needs a few guidelines/rules/restrictions.....any thoughts?

Bobby McFerrin - voice or instrument?

Great idea JC - whilst not being huge on rules, how about if any music posted has to be from our own existing collections - so we're not just trawling old spot for random bizarre instrumentals but posting stuff we know and like already.
Which probably will be random bizarre instrumental..

Should we try and restrict the genres?
And how does it work if the voice is used as an instrument. Some of Sheila Chandra and Bobby for example.

Exactly Global - going for 100 greats, for example, might end up with the collected works of Bechet or something - I thought there might only be one piece per artiste. The thing was that I was listening to a whole album of Trojan instrumentals and you could fill it with that. Maybe tracks already in available playlists might jus work as you suggest - but could we be so strict. Anyway mull it over.

                            Torquay ?

The best band in the music business is STILL at it! The Fireballs perform their hit song Torquay in Quartzite, Arizona. After 52 years of playing together,...

John, I guess they didn't want to follow in the footsteps of the fab four who played The Princess in '63.
                                So it never happened.

In that second tube I think The Fireballs were performing in Sweden.
