This Darondo feller has been a real find for me - only 1 album on the Spoot - got any more info on him Paul? Is any of this true
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darondo - reads like the very definition of the word 'apocryphal'...

Like who is that bass player? Definitely influenced by the good Reverend Al, but the world of music can stand quite a few of those.

      Thanks

        Global,

I didn't know nothin' on the man till just recently. I had heard a tune a few years back but hadn't followed him up.
There's always something else going on ! Anyway it's grand that good sounds keep surfacing and I'd be chuffed if someone
could work out a way to slip him on to R3 when its dark ... unless Andrew McGregor goes walkabout !

Global, the thing that doesn't add up for me is the number of songs on the 'Listen to my Song, the Music City sessions' - according to the biog he recorded 6 sides that were released and they found another three in a box - that makes 9 sides yet the record seems to have 16 tracks - anyway the songs seem to bear repeated listening - I mean he does look like he could be 60 odd by the more recent photos if we assume that the cover photo was taken when he was 20 odd not that that means anything - great voice indeed!

Gone gone and never called me mother

That cute little Spooty playlist to cheer us up - well, I can't find it any more...looked everywhere under cyber mats, in dusty corners of forgotten disk drives, the nether reaches of the farflung www.

            Gone, disparu.

Any light on this JC? Or is it a revenge press of the delete key by the forces of misery. Admittedly powerful...

Did wonder where you'd suddenly disappeared to - you were there and then you were gone - is this any good to get you to find the way again?

By the way, looks like the PP has been at it again on the chain - or is that something easily explained? oops they've disappeared again - passing neutrino no doubt!

Yes, the PP is definitely back, non-attributed tracks appearing again, I'm pleased h/she has returned.

A few genres conspicuously absent from the RTBC playlist - does this really mean there aren't any happy C+W songs? Or classical toons?

I may have to pop over to Platform 3 and ask the Q....

Mrs GT is chuffed as some of her suggestions have made it onto there, and resulted in a slight outbreak of capering.
So it works - listening to it now instead of the news. Recommended.

Mrs GT ain't the PP by any chance - have you noticed any unusual crumbs around the keyboard, any uncalledfor capers, G? I liked Lat's R3 mentions - wouldn't like it to get out too far mind you.

Nope, Spotify is a mystery to her and she intends to keep it that way.

We could do with PS I reckon...he may be able to fill some gaps we didn't know we had

We've had friends staying so spotty forum time's been a bit short of late. Then there was the bay window curtain rail to construct ... I'll try and have a look at this creation sometime soon

Can't remember where Gideon Coe last got a mention but that good man responded in a flash to a suggestion for
a repeat of the BBC Diblo Dibala session. LA Tuesday ( 27/9/11 ) night for those curious !

And on the subject of Mr Coe - it's seems that his messageboard may be closing.
Like here it's a quiet corner with a few fine, witty regulars.
                            I've invited them over ....

Anyway Iarla's new album is just out so I've got to listen...so far I'm disappointed.

But who counts the steps of the sun?

(betcha don't get Wm. B. On the Other Side- actually I'll take a look and a listen - a BBC radio station WITH MESSAGEBOARDS ...won't catch on )

(er, that was last week wasn't it?)
