Paul, thanks for the bairdy woman - terrific - does she play the geetarr too? - I loved this one in particular.

...and of course the wonderful Barbay Ellen version...

So I'm listening to Calvi,Calvi/ Rey Don - a Sephardic song from somewhere...does anyone have the faintest clue how it got on The Chain...i need to investigate the little gem a bit more.

Oh yes, I've just found that on Spotify although I don't have the latest chain. It is good.

Well on mine it has as the poster a certain trautigan - need to get Sarah Lund on to the case!

Totally agree Global - appealing record I thought.

And you could get 1001 for less than half a crown.
Those were the days ... Mary Hopkin, Bobby Charlton, the Prince of Wales Investiture ...

Just had a really intense desk bound day and was entertained by the Spotty Boys' 'Not In English' collection playing 'The Shuffle'
                    It's really very good.

Need to watch the old self-congratulatory thing, but...I recently entertained some chums & me with the Desert Island Discs one - also v.good.

Which recording did the chums choose as the one record they'd take ?
Good point about self-congin' but after quite a few years of solid practice I'm now more than a little confident about the selection
                        process.
