I've just got to tweak the order a bit -
All Night Dance Party on the Russian Space Station
Singing a folk song for the Communist Party
    and
    The Waves of Tory
    somehow belong together...

Could be the cowboy hats !

And I once used that weenie roast dialogue in a programme.
          Went down well !

The Waves of Tory........could be the tune that sums up the year.

Great to have the lists back.

The Youngbloods - Get Together. Sublime. So sublime words (almost) fail.

A funny thing about music. The mind has odd gaps. The recording is absolutely definitive and yet it only fully clicked with me when Bob Harris played it this year. It was like being taken back 40 years to something heard then but not really ever since and yet it must have cropped up everywhere. I've been here before with different tracks. Very, very, weird.

I say definitive. It is an original "all is right with the world" track. Isn't it also though part "Needles and Pins"? Just (another) thought.

I was a bit late arriving at this party so a lot of gold had already been mined. Ne' mind, I found a few good uns, some of which I'd never heard before.

McGrooger, John and I were on the night shift and the instructions came late. You got the communist one which was the best of the lot and the most appreciated by the people on Platform 3. I will go fifth next time but would be more happy to be tenth. Martin, Calum, the Phantom Poster etc - we need them in.

.....Spoke too soon. Just checked. You weren't that communist. You had the temerity to put some sanity into the proceedings. The richness of Africa, Cesaria Evora....admittedly I beat you to the King Khan and BBQ Show. That's life I guess.

Whoops soz - I've just done a quick check for dupes and deleted that one.

Bet you wouldn't have put that Uri Caine in though... and maybe even not George Yam singing YMCA pump up the volume

I'm enjoying it - here's the link again

Wow, lots more - I could do with a Dropkick Murphys gig in 2011 to mark the end of hibernation. Did I mention a birthday? The party list has come at just the right time. Many thanks guys.

As some of the new ones are a bit folky, just time to mention that at 8pm tonight on BBC4, there's Bellowhead, the Unthanks, Lisa Knapp and Thea Gilmore celebrating Christmas at Shoreditch Town Hall. I'm assuming this is a repeat from last year. If so, it is pretty good.

Trouble is the list of playlists shared is so big that the top of the spotty page rarely gets in to view ... that's my excuse
in what might be the last post before the big break !
