Actually in my case it was thinking about the connection between him & John Martyn that led me back to him.

        Film :

Soley Soley by Middle of The Road featured in the Argentine film ' La Mujer Sin Cabeza ' which was a late Stoke Film Theatre substitute
for 'Las Acacias' which had decided to stay in Bristol.

I thought someone had hacked into your Spotify account and posted something truly dreadful.

Actually I still do...but luckily, as you can see, I took precautions so I didn't have to listen to all of it.

          Mrs GT wasn't so lucky...

But thanks for the Kouyate Sory Kandia which had quite a different effect.

Yes, thank you Paul for the Guinea. Who won last night? Hope it was someone good.

Not sure if I get all of the 1970s references. I do though remember Soley Soley by Middle of the Road. As I recall, it was a year or two after Polly Browne was in the charts with Pickettywitch. Sadly the Picketty Witch is now only a pub in Yeovil. Here just before a studio recording from the 1990s is lead singer Polly Browne in 2009 (arguably) treading the boards at the age of 62 -

'don't go messin' with my heart' written by polly and featuring the late pete harrison on guitar - taken at a 'polly browne blues' gig - you'll have to turn...

polly browne - ' freedom ' - written by polly - recorded mid 90's - and featuring the late greg watkins on guitar

You will. In what, imo, was a quite tremendous production by the R3 team.
One advantage of being there was seeing the film of their trips with the two previous winners.
Impressive and moving. I hope they put it up on the website.

                      An interesting film.

Good luck to José Hernando Noguera. A pity that there doesn't appear to be anything on Spotify by Egidio Cuadrado.

                        I'm revisiting some of our greatest lists from the '100 songs about' series - Ye Olde Spottly Playlists;

forgotten how good some of them were.... the one about birds is quite appropriate today..

Thank you for the link Global. I like it. Sad to say that I missed the birdie days this weekend. But I once managed a bird study of national importance and ruined the British economy by postponing a monstrous bird unfriendly new airport.

JC - A family list. Sounds good to me.
