Once you have installed it you can play songs & talk via the mike on your PC and it will record it on to your hard drive. Pretty easy to edit too if you make mistakes. I created a show for my DJ chum using this, and it was fine, took a while, but hey, such is live, er life.
Then you can save it in the format wfmu want, and either whack it onto a CD as a data file, or use some kind of legal file sharing software like http://www.box.net/features or http://www.dropbox.com.
The quality of the sound is configurable in Audacity to an extent, but, of course, if it is a low quality mp3 to start with...
