Terrible assumption on my part, really sorry, ‘a little knowledge ....’ and all that. The superb state of the instrument is a fitting memorial to the firm, as I believe, and I think I’m right this time, Mander Organs have recently ceased trading.

The RAH Organ, Wren's 'Confounded box of whistles', is a graveyard for organ-grinders.

        ...but their name liveth...

F.H.Browne & Sons Ltd of Canterbury, est. 1871, has acquired the name and intellectual property of Mander Organs. MD Stephen Bayley and two of his colleagues are ex-Mander members of staff, so a good degree of continuity is assured, establishing a new chapter in the life and history of Mander Organs. More information can be gleaned from the Mander Organs website at mander-organs.com. (Adapted from John Pike Mander’s announcement on Fb.)

Agreed, granted that I had to keep in mind constantly that these are transcriptions for organ. Even the Saint-Saens just for organ alone worked much better than I expected. Even just from listening on iPlayer, JS is a very engaging chap, in addition to being an excellent musician.
