Did they heck.... it remains unrecorded.... (Like 7 and 8)...
(they put the Panufnik 10th on the album instead....bizarre decision....)Last edited by jayne lee wilson; 11-07-19, 13:11.

Museums these days make much more of an effort to interest different people and it's about time concert halls did the same. I'm not talking about tacky gimmicks either but meaningful ways to appeal to open-minded audiences.

Anyway - IT'S HERE!
HERE WE GO!
The Dvorak itself, remember, is a substantial piece - getting on for the half-hour - You can look at the gruesome plot line if you want...
But...Let's give everything a good old Radio 3 fair hearing....
Time to put the celebrated Proms Penguin in its long-appointed place....(on the permanently-stopped, podium-like carriage clock...)

A few weeks ago on my Dresden trip I saw Karina Canellakis conduct the Dresdner Philharmonie at Kulturpalast in a super programme:
Messiaen – Hymne au Saint-Sacrement
Shostakovich – Violin Concerto No. 1 (soloist: Christian Tetzlaff)
Stravinsky – Chant funèbre – Homage to Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov
Scriabin – The Poem of Ecstasy
Canellakis is a very fine condcuter who I will be following with great interest.
