We also need a Tubin Prom and a Magnard Prom and a Roussel prom and a Honegger Prom and a Bax Prom and a Hanson Prom and....

Or perhaps we should schedule lots of Mahler and Shostakovich as usual...
Cool down, Mr Broucek and hold your moon rocket tight! Given the present BBC overlords, they'll be organising a John Hanson Tribute Night on your behalf, probably featuring The Vagabond King.

(Less is more... I'll stand shoulder to shoulder over a Honegger night ending with his 5th.)

The bad news is that Michael Ball and Ed Sheeran will be John Hanson!

LOL. Was thinking more of Howard as I expect you know!

Did hear some live Magnard recently but had to go to Tokyo for it!

PS Baudo’s Honegger very reasonable on Qobuz just now

The Symphonies in that set were, in their LP manifestation, my introduction to Honegger. The QOBUZ offer looks attractive at first sight. However, I would advise reading their (QOBUZ's) accompanying blurb before committing. It's pretty damning.

Oh dear... I can claim to have sung with Michael Ball in the RAH!

Yes, that made me question the validity of the level of applause at the end.

It wasn't unpleasant unlike singing in a choir, also, in the RAH, alongside another star who was incapable of singing an immensely popular hymn in tune during her solo verse. The result was one take for the choir's verses and many takes of the solo verse that were edited into something approaching good enough for TV broadcast at a later stage. That experience was excruciating and cruel.

Your experience of the star unable to sing in tune is no surprise. So often ‘star’ singers are far inferior to the session singers who back them, and tinkerings in studios amend bad tuning!
