          Even if sopranos aren't your musical cup of tea, I would advise making an exception for Elena Stikhina here. ES did a splendid job, never overdoing it. This was the highlight of this particular Prom for me, at least. Fine, fine DSCH 8 as well, even with the 'happy clappers' in the two designated movement breaks. Good Smetana opener as well, where the applause after the Overture was much less of an issue here. I think that Bychkov deliberately elided the 3 dances attacca to avoid this issue as much as he could.
