On balance, a pretty good first half, where I thought that the Elgar was the musical highlight (interesting to say that about the quietest piece on the program so far). JB did very well, where I thought that the Saint-Saens showed the very best of the 3 from her so far (again, something about the quietest number of the set). But the Verdi ran pretty close behind. (Plus, I think that JB winning Cardiff Singer of the World gives her UK street cred.)
PS: Nice feature on "The Musicians' Church" running now, with Petroc as audio tour guide. I visited St Sepulchre-without-Newgate 3 years ago on my last Proms visit.
