I just wish people would at least try to stifle their coughs a bit!
    - on all points.

Thanks, BBMmk2, it's good to know there's a TS CD of Browne's music.

One other thing about this Prom I was going to mention is that the broadcast would've been even more impressive had it been made available as a binaural mix. It's a pity it wasn't and, rather like with the 'Pioneers of Sound' Prom, was a missed opportunity in my view.

Am I right in thinking that the binaural mixes rather fizzled out after the first three weeks or so? Can't find evidence of any of them now.

No, there are quite a few including Last Night items: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06drb3s

You're right though, the link to them has disappeared off the R3 home page so they take a bit of finding.

Ah, thanks. Pretty well-hidden (I'm sure they were more prominent early in the season). I look forward to hearing the Verdi Requiem in binaural, for sure.

I can't see anything there that tells us how long they'll be up for - the Holst from the First Night is still there, I see. Again, I'm probably missing something that's staring me in the face.

You're not missing anything staring you in the face, underthecounter; the BBC, in its wisdom, has made this very hard to find. I was able to quickly give you that link because I still had the page open on a tab in my browser. Afterwards, I thought I'd go looking for a link and couldn't find any at all from either the R3 or Proms sites. (You're right that during the Proms season there was a link to the binaural recordings from the R3 home page.) Eventually I searched Google for "Binaural proms" and the first result was this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/arti...binaural-sound. No indication of how long the recordings will be available but it did reveal a collection of binaural recordings from previous Proms so a little treasure chest to explore!

Hope you enjoy the Verdi, I haven't heard it yet.

I really must correct myself on this. There is a binaural mix of this concert and magnificent it is too! https://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/play/p06m6p7k

I'm not sure if it's been added recently or whether I just didn't see it before

In my view it was the best Prom I went to this season. I don't recall the audience noise being worse than usual - there was some shuffling during the opening processional number as the Arena closed in behind the singers once they were on the platform, and some people had to sit down during the final number. Doubtless the broadcast engineers had to turn the volume knob up a bit for such a performance.
One more chance (well, 30 days of more chances, starting on New Year's Day) to catch Prom 73 (mislabeled as "Prom 7") by the Tallis Scholars in the New Year:
