    This interesting question can be considered in two ways.

    The second is from the perspective of dance.

    Tchaikovsky has some of the most memorable ballet music.

    Much of it isn't especially suited to ballet as in dancing.

        Indeed Lat, most times I listen to ballet scores it is for the great music not for the dancing.

          Ever seen a production, RF ? There was a new one in Germany a couple of years ago.
