Apologies for interjecting with a very prosaic post, but I have a practical query to which the various BBC/RAH websites don't seem to provide an answer. I'm hoping someone here can be of assistance. I'm planning to fly in from Ireland for one of the performances; I'd be happy to attend any one from a shortlist of four. If (in order to reduce my risk of winding up empty-handed) I select all four of these performances in my "Proms Planner", and am fortunate enough to obtain tickets for more than one of these on Saturday morning, can I at that point then discard/reject some of them and purchase tickets only for a single prom?

Bumping this to see if anyone has an answer for you …It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I have expunged all memory of the Proms plan process, given the extreme frustration it engenders when their IT clearly is not set up to - and doesn't - cope.
But a quick search of the RAH website reveals this page:
Once you have claimed (accessed?) your Proms plan this seems the relevant paragraphs:
"After counting down your queue place you will reach the front, where you can checkout and find out which items in your plan you have been successful in acquiring.
At this stage the tickets are reserved for you and you will have 30 minutes to complete the order.
The Planner will tell you which tickets are in your basket and will alert you if you have been placed in a seating area which was not your first preference. It will also notify you of the Proms which you have been unsuccessful in acquiring."
In my view, if you are committed to buying all or nothing, it woud be very unfair, and open to challenge (but given the take it or leave attitude to Proms booking at the RAH I suppose they might do that).
Perhaps a telephone call to the Box Office to find out is appropriate (and of course, post the info in this thread...)

One call to the RAH box office later, and I can't say I'm much the wiser. The very nice lady on the phone wasn't sure if the system would allow me to deselect allocated tickets before checkout; she thought I may need to phone them to sort that out. However, she did also say that if the "insurance" tickets were for popular proms, they would be able to refund me and resell the tickets. All a bit nebulous. Anyway - thanks to all for your input.
