The inclusion of percussion, Ghatam, Mridangam, etc., associated with the South Indian tradition was an interesting touch, but failed to save the day.

I truly, truly struggle with Philip Glass - the relentless repeated modules like some frenetic sewing or washing machine partnered with a road drill. I simply cannot see the appeal. I really do wish someone could explain it carefully to me.

OK, somebody said something about 'drones' so I shall be a pest (he he he ... ) . I quite liked this. It has a new agey, therapeutic quality to it. Had a friend once who was into Philip Glass, yoga, crystal healing, the lot. I admire Anoushka's skill and presence. Can't be easy to be a woman musician in India. The sax trio (?) In the opening reminded me of some of Barbara Thompson recent work for sax ensemble.
Oh, and it sends to sleep, too.
And the tune ends too soon for us all

Quite possibly, but Anoushka's a Londoner, Born in London and brought up in The UK, USA and India. She's married to Joe Wright and has 2 sons. The family is based in London, I believe.
