Georgia Mann presents informal music and poetry featuring emerging UK talent, recorded on Wednesday in the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall, and featuring all-female jazz band Nerija, made up of London-based musicians performing music inspired by jazz, hip-hop, Afrobeat and hi-life.
Apologies to all for my only just having come across this concert, it not being included in the RT Proms 2016 pull-out. As it happens, notwithstanding my attention to the various happenings of London jazz, I have not previously come across any of the female musicians mentioned on the website I've just found under their name, and so what is to be made of this event remains to be heard. I shall be tuning in at 10 pm.
