Wasn't Henry VIII thought to be the culprit at one point?

OK. Good to hear it. I merely responded to what you wrote.

Looks more like an audience for 'the Good Old days' than a supposedly cutting edge music festival.

( just caught the end waiting for more of the BBCs wall to wall football coverage.)

There certainly seemed to be a few 'badger baiters' amongst the prommers tonight. However, that is just my jealousy seeping through that I have never yet managed to acquire tickets for the Last Night.

Thought she was looking a bit older herself appropriately enough.

At the end of the day, it was a great concert - made me proud to be British!

                        But this time, chiefly... yourselves!

And why not, for one night out of many?

Was Juan Diego La Rue any good?

La fille du Régiment presumably, or some such....

Good thing that I neither watched nor listened, then, apparently; I'm a composer first and foremost (for what that may or may not be worth), an European next, a Scot next and a Brit last (or "at the end of the queue", as soon-to-be ex-President Obama might put it), but I'm not especially "proud" to be any of those things - I just do the best that I can. I wouldn't wave a flag if you paid me (unless the amount concerned was really substantial and, even then, I'd do in in private)...

Indeed, but maybe it just helped to endorse that feeling.
