Most of them already carry rectangular tracking devices, projecting in front of them at an angle of 45 degrees.

We'd walk right back, or adapt and pretty soon the new location would become the new capital.

Adapting is what I'm suggesting might be the problem.

. . . if getting from central London to Peckham is really so troublesome.

Can we not all get a charabanc from Belgrave Square and make a jolly trip of it?

The Blitz spirit and all that. Pip-pip!

I don't know why this 'Peckham thing' has grown legs and is running all over this thread. Peckham is easy to get to, even if you're coming from Istanbul!

Count me in old sport !

But hang on ... what are they actually playing in Peckham...?

Even easier to stay away from.... seeing that they're playing Reich, Reich, and then some Reich...

Cancel my charabanc ticket, Prommer. I'll be otherwise engaged!

Re. the non-classical Proms: To me, it doesn't feel like last year, where they were being deliberately provocative with it. ("We're playing Ibiza music; go stuff yourself!" was very much the approach) Bowie was certainly on the artsier end of the pop spectrum, and the others are more traditional dance music (Strictly) and jazz (Cullum, Jones etc.), which, we must remember, Radio 3 cover as well. So I'm not too bothered by those concerts this year.

I know what you mean, but Reich is the one out of 'them lot' who's music I'm ok with. I like different trains and I think the title 'Different Trains' is one of the simplest and poignant titles of its (or any) subject.

                            ('them lot', American Minimalists)

Will you be adapting yourself to queer London ways and ensuring you're ensconced at 17:45 in the Imperial College Union on Sunday 28 August, and thereafter at the RAH?

lets hope they haven't organised any Peckham proms for a Millwall home " Matchday", as the trains from the safety of London Bridge station go through the heart of Lion Country.

South Bermondsey is not a place for the fainthearted on footy days.....

Not to suggest that prommers heading to a gig in a car park are necessarily fainthearted, of course.
