Well, to be honest, I dig them up the same way that savoir_faire dug up his/her treasure trove of tidbits, namely by careful Googling. There are, of course, obvious search strings, like:

BBC Proms 2016 London Royal Albert Hall
Proms 2016 London Royal Albert Hall

(One other trick is to try to Google in languages besides English, e.g. "Londres" to get French-language site hits that might spill some beans.)

The catch is that most of the Google hits from such searches will be from the BBC's page, as well as past pages. One has to wade through many pages of past and/or hushed-up, uninformative links that observe the embargo to get to pages like individual singers' websites that breach (usually unintentionally, and with no ill intent at all) the information embargo. This is clearly what s_f did, and to give credit where credit is due, s_f's earlier post found most of the good stuff for this coming Proms season. Information is quite tight lipped compared to past years, it seems. I pretty much found the same hits as s_f, but I amplified on them more, where s_f was more discreet earlier, perhaps because at the time, s_f didn't want to "out" the artists as breaching the embargo by providing the evidence of the breaches in the form of links. However, with the time getting closer to the release of the season, where we're < 1 week away, I didn't feel quite so restrained about providing links (which I honestly haven't been in past years anyway).

There's also an element of reading between the lines here and there. For instance, on the Universal Edition website, besides the information about the August 19 Janacek Věc Makropulos Prom, one entry for UK performances of composers on their publication label is dated the next day, about a performance of a work by Georg Friedrich Haas in London:

"Open Spaces II | In memory of James Tenney
    Territorial Première
    Location: London (GB)
Scored for: for 12 string instruments and 2 percussion | 16′
    Orchestra: London Sinfonietta
    Conductor: Andrew Gourlay
Unlike the Janacek entry, no specific location is listed in "London (GB)". The London Sinfonietta's own page does not list anything on their page for August. But there is a huge gap between the Sinfonietta's events on July 16 ("Musicians of Tomorrow") and October 22 ("Connect"). One would think that if that August 20 London Sinfonietta event were not part of The Proms (and thus not under the embargo), the Sinfonietta would feature information on their site. But they don't. Plus, August 20, 2016 is a Saturday. So, extrapolating from those bits, one can hypothesize that on Saturday, 20 August 2016, Andrew Gourlay will conduct the London Sinfonietta in a program that includes one work by Georg Friedrich Haas, in its UK premiere. Given that it's a Saturday, involves a chamber ensemble, and at least one contemporary work, it's not hard to infer that this concert is one of the Proms Saturday Matinees at Cadogan Hall.

This is probably the last new tidbit (assuming that the inference is correct) that I'll find, before the big day next week. If I remember, I might try to collate in one last post before the big day all the information that various folks have gathered on the coming season in one single summary post.

Good detective work, bsp - but I'd take a punt that that concert will be a "Late-Nighter".

My friendly bookshop has just rung to say that my copy is in, so I am off to town to collect it.

Well, I think there will be apoplexy in certain quarters about Prom 8!

Nothing screaming at me to attend, but much to enjoy listening to, and some interesting different venues introduced.

Let's get something right - nothing at all by Brian Ferneyhough again this year?

Is Prom 8 the Top Gear Prom?

Contrary to previous comments/speculation, a fair bit is scheduled for TV transmission.
