Your wishes for 2016 (Music-related suggestions only please)

The 2015 Proms may have only just passed into the history books, but it's never too early to start talking about next year. What would you like to see at next year's Proms? Please stick to music-related suggestions, whether that be composers, works, soloists or orchestras you want to see performed/-ing next year.

Apart from the usual wishes for more neglected British music, I would like to see a Latin/South American thread in 2016, what with the Rio Olympics coinciding with the Proms, and the centenary of Alberto Ginastera, it's surely a fine time to showcase the fascinating, rhythm-driven tradition of their orchestral music.

I hope that Milton Babbitt's centenary will be celebrated ... but I think that's some hope!

I expect that Henri Dutilleux will be more fortunate, so something to look forward to.

Gurrelieder hasn't been done since 2012 so maybe it's time for another outing...one which I'd like to attend in person. Also Stravinsky's Violin Concerto in D please; and if Hilary Hahn's the soloist, I'll definitely be there.

Though I doubt this can happen due to copyright issues.

In fact lots of currently unavailable Soviet era music from the Melodiya archives released on CD,preferably in a big box set.

But there is lots of 2015 to get our teeth into , for now !!

The centenary of the death in action at the Somme of George Butterworth falls on 5 August 2016, it would seem appropriate for that to be marked (http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/ca...SAINTON%20KAYE). After various centenary related things last year, the ongoing commemorations were overlooked this year (we could for example have had somethign to mark the death of William Denis Browne in June 1915). Another vote for some George Lloyd. Also, a request for a reprise of 1998's Choral Day, which was a great success (barring the barbershop - ugh!). The logistics must've been an absolute nightmare, but the infrastructure of the RAH has improved since then.
