Not on this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/events/eqm4fx or the print option. But your suggestion makes sense. Do you have a link, please?

It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Thanks both. Wonder what his own compositions are like...must do a little research. I have a weekend pass for that period.

EDIT: Are Qobuz comes up trumps. Excellent.

The concert lasted rather longer than our friend's estimate.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. He made the Willis sound like a Wurlitzer at times. He got registrations that I'd not heard before on that organ. The improvisations had great colour and flair. CC indicated that they were both from the St Matthew Passion but I thought the first theme was the final chorus of the St John. Great entertainment.

Have only just started to LA and was immediately set back by the presenter, Christopher Cook, trotting out the overworn and meaningless phrase yet again. I had thought he would have known better.

Yes but doesn't Nicola Benedetti put her Stradivarius through its paces?

                        Just listened on I player.
                        Marvelous stuff indeed.
                        Is Mendelssohn's organ music,especially the sonatas,underrated ?
Well it doesn't seem to feature very often on the radio or in recital, which IMO is a pity.
The opening bar of the gorgeous andante tranquillo (song without words) of the A Major was almost ruined by the happy clappers.
