    Eric Whitacre's new work Deep Field is inspired by images taken from the Hubble Space Telescope - and offers the audience a chance to participate in a novel way. In his popular Cloudburst, too, you can help create the sound of rain falling. Plus, American classics by Copland and Gershwin.

        This is a Sunday afternoon 'Proms lite' concert, so presumably another 'Family Prom'? Not sure what pieces Martin James Bartlett and Leonard Elschenbroich will play.
        It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

                      I must admit I quite like Whitacre. As one of the Cackling Detractors (#18) I could not possibly comment on whether the choral performance was to my taste.
