There's probably a technical term for this sort of completely unprovable, unknowable assertion, Beef, and I've no doubt that you'll come up with a smartass reply to this post. But there's little doubt that with his particular form of deafness Beethoven would have found the thump thump of dance music extremely distressing.

I had a roommate in College who asserted that Janis Joplin was the greatest musician of all time, and that if Beethoven were still alive, he would be writing music like that of Janis Joplin. He didn't seem amused when I observed that if Janis Joplin were alive in Beethoven's time she would have been a washerwoman.

Wow! That was a helluva Season! Just looking through the 53 concerts - there's nothing I'd want to miss. Great repertoire, great range, great performers - Wow!
