More interesting (and frustrating) is the way the BBC is throwing its might behind this Prom: first Suzy Klein making a mountain out of a molehill denouncing the 'snobs', then the BBC online news yelping 'snobs', now they bring it up again (in case anyone had forgotten?) on the news website.
Give it a break, chaps: it's not one of the most important Proms this season - you know, the ones you're NOT writing about. It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Still if you start calling people names and telling them to 'chill out' ( or 'get over themselves', if it comes to that), you're more likely to make them angry. The antics of the presenters and bosses at R3 and the BBC put me off potentially spending time listening to (some)Proms far more than non classical repertoire would.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
I am not a number, I am a free man.

That was before the Stranglers had an orchestra backing them, right?
Anyway, I'm off to see Hugh Cornwell play his up to date stuff.
Oh no, that was last year. Memory aint what is used to be.......I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

It tended to make me think twice about being there, without ever actually stopping me. ( ref SLF Nobody's heroes tour).
Unlike the weather which does stop me if its a bit rainy, these days.
Or it perhaps it just goes to show how utterly idiotic some of the presenter nonsense is..worse than gobbin' and fighting !!I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

DJ Pete Tong says BBC Radio 1's first Prom, a musical homage to Ibiza, will reach out to different audiences and help "keep the proms alive".
(Let me know when they're doing Shostakovich 15 in Ibiza, Pete, coz I also want to reach out! )
Quite often it contains some wonderful sounds.
I don't dance to the stuff BTW
IMO it doesn't belong at the Proms when so much classical music remains unperformed.
