It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

The context of the Proms is not the same as a sit down concert for initiates at The Wigmore Hall or late night Feldman at St Pauls in November
The idea that somehow "The Symphony" is some kind of holy relic that should ALWAYS be treated in the same way doesn't really hold up to either historical scrutiny or the context of folks feeling they want to applaud between sections (just like in Opera, Ballet, Indian Music, Jazz etc etc etc )
And less of the personal sniping, you have no idea what music i've been to hear or would go to.
Getting angry about this just makes the hypertension worse

No...I need to cough then
I thought that was part of the music?
You really can't tell these days you know with all the nonsense that these modern composers come up with

Do choral evensong, and mediaeval music, and satanic death metal, and Jazz have movements?

Audiences also applaud after every scrap of medieval song, even when the pieces are grouped and they're specifically asked to wait until the end of a group. It makes concerts about twice as long as they ought to be.

.
I'm saying what I wrote (and probably what I wrote last year and the year before)
Anyway it's time for the next person in the group to speak about their "personal journey" and how they became unable to cope with other human beings at concerts.
