Oh, crumbs - I initially replied to BeefO's post thinking I was replying to ts's - so then I deleted my original and attached it to ts's - in the meanwhile, BeefO replied to my (now deleted) post which now appears after the reply to it.
We're creating our very own mini-Dr Who Prom here!Numquam Satis!

If there is a better work ripe for a TV Prom than Delusion of the Fury, I'd like to see/hear it.

That gets my vote on this thread.
And Panic (would work for mr Alpen and Malcontent as well ...... "hang the DJ")

Some quick suggestions:
(1) Constant Lambert:
(a) Summer's Last Will and Testament, the entire work ("King Pest" was performed most recently at the 1952 Proms)
(b) Concerto for piano and nine players (last Proms outing, 1975)
(2) William Alwyn: Lyra Angelica (last Proms outing, 1954)
(3) Peter Maxwell Davies:
(a) Worldes Blis (only Proms outing, 1969)
(b) Eight Songs for a Mad King (only Proms outing, 1970; but the idea of a violin getting smashed on stage is painful to think of, in all honesty)
(4) Paul Hindemith: Clarinet Concerto (only Proms outing, 1951)
(5) Jacques Ibert: Escales (last Proms performance, 1986)
(6) Dorothy Howell: Piano Concerto in d (last Proms outing, 1927 - mind you, I have no idea if this piece is any good, as I've never heard it)
Maybe I'll get to selections from the 2nd half of the alphabet later.

Pedantic point: as you know, this is literally impossible, because the Proms always includes Beethoven 9, as well as the 3 works sacrosanct at the Last Night, "Land of Hope and Glory", "Rule, Britannia!", and "Jerusalem", every year.
