[Re: Email receipts] Yes, I received mine within 15 mins of booking. Have you checked your email address on your account with the RAH?

And, as someone has suggested, give the opportunity to fill in credit card details in advance.

My first post of this year will not help any of the previous posts but it is a suggestion for next years Proms. I know everyone doesn't live in London but I suggest queuing for tickets in person (I have done it for many years and got the tickets I wanted). Admittedly I queued from midnight until 9am but i was fourth in the queue and had all my proms tickets in my hands by 9:08am. One additional bonus is that I saved many pounds not being charged a booking fee (for those out of London, this saving could help with your cost of travel and you wouldn't need accommodation because you'd be spending the night or part of it with the 200 or so who also queued in person. By 2am only 6 in the queue, by 5am about 20 and by 9am 200 or so (as opposed to the circa 1000 who were in the queue by 9am last year). Anyway for those who did get tickets I hope you enjoy your chosen concerts.

It certainly does need a bit of stamina, but you have a good point. There's also not much against joining the Prom queue on the day, or buying a season ticket. I will be celebrating the big 80 this summer, but I will still have a season pass and stand for numerous concerts.

Many people might consider that an ordeal, but remember, you only need to stand during the two hours or so when the performers are actually playing, and if you fancy a sit down before the concert, there are some excellent talks in the RCM at 6.30 most evenings, and you are free to attend these without losing your place in either queue.

Why do season ticket holders queue anyway? Well, they do so to meet their friends and find their favourite spot in the Arena or Gallery, and incidentally the sound in the Arena knocks spots over most seats.

When I used to buy a ticket on the day, I only remember failing to get in on one solitary occasion, and that was a Prom with the Vienna PO, so on the whole the risk is worth taking provided you are able to arrive at a reasonable time. Lots of day queue people arrive from the office at about six, and they usually get in.

I did, thanks. And then spotted My Order History and there was my booking so, in best W1A parlance, 'That's all good then'.

Perhaps, for those who happen to live in the south-east. But for the rest of us, Proms visits tend to be more concentrated, to minimise travel and accommodation costs.

How about a mechanism whereby purchasers of lots of tickets in previous seasons get early access to the tickets for the new season?

Similar things happen at Premier League football clubs - if you went to games X, Y and Z you can buy some tickets for the big game coming up...

Might be hard to filter out the touts from the general punter, but since that idea would benefit me, I am all for it !

I'm definitely going to this one.

No that is totally unfair and against the spirit of the Proms.

Well if you go on the Thursday you will have missed it! It is Tuesday 8th. I may well go to this one as well. Be very interesting to compare and contrast the two in close proximity to each other.

I've never received my e-mail confirmation either but, like you, went on to the RAH website to have a look at my order history. Yes, it's all there!

Also rang my credit card people to discover that the original cc payment had been 'declined'. The debit card payment went through without problem.

You say that, but isn't that the way the Last Night allocation works?...

But surely this doesn't depend on previous seasons - just the current one?
