What hacks me off is for me to log in at exactly 9am only to find I can't get in then find myself at around 14,000 in the queue when finally in the waiting room about 10 minutes later. No doubt all the ticket touts are standing by with their multiple computers.

That's exactly the kind of thing which as you suggest "hacks me off" too. Good luck!

      BEFORE 9AM, SATURDAY 16 MAY?

The BBC Proms are not on sale yet and the Royal Albert Hall website is closed.

Please return to the website at or after 9am. This page will not refresh automatically.

            You'll be lucky ...

Now 9.03, and I'm getting Website Unavailable - (also at 9.05!)

            AFTER 9AM, SATURDAY 16 MAY?

The BBC Proms are on sale, but we are experiencing very high demand for ticket purchases.

Thank you for your patience. We recommend you visit us again in a short while.

We have an online waiting room in place, so that as many users as possible may buy tickets fairly in order of queuing, but even this is currently full.
            Please note:

This page will not automatically refresh to allow you into the waiting room queue. Please return to www.royalalberthall.com later.

Once you are in the waiting room queue, your computer requires a continuous connection with our website to maintain your position. We therefore suggest that you use a desktop computer rather than a tablet or mobile device.

                Booking today....

Don't know if I was just lucky, but logging on at 9.00 I was Nr 45 in the queue; it went rapidly down and I was all finished by 9.07. Not bad work by the RAH, or just lucky?

                Good luck to others!

No luck here! Logged in before, on the dot and after 9 and all I get is website unavailable and revisit later. Refreshing for 13 minutes still gives me same message.

Congratulations, Rcartes. I've been trying to book by phone, with - predictably, I suppose - no luck at all. I either get an engaged signal or an odd intermittent beeping which might be a ring tone but equally might not. In either case, it cuts off after a uniform fourteen beeps.

Same as B-o-D. I'm clearing the cache, and using I Explorer and Chrome by turns , and all I get is the same "unavailable" page. I did my Proms plan last year and it was a lot better.
Once again the IT for booking shows itself woefully short of delivering satisfaction to customers ((Royal Opera House is the one most frequently responsible for soaring levels of frustration?). And I have a fibre internet connection, on a desktop (so no wi-fi) PC. At the RoH I've just stopped going. And at the prices being charged for the Proms I might just do the same.........

Are you using a Mac? I've a hunch that the site does some form of filtering, though can't prove it. It's not browser specific though - I've tried several.

Keep refreshing Cockney (I'm sure you are). It looks as if 100 are clearing through every minute from the waiting room so er....I've just got to wait 40 minutes before I'm head of the queue.

I decided not to use the planner this year since I'm only booking for one concert, but after attempting for thirty minutes to get through on the phone I thought I'd try it anyway. But you can't: it's no longer available. Whether this is a temporary or a permanent situation isn't clear. I suppose I was hopelessly optimistic in thinking I could call the box office the old fashioned way.
