With less than two weeks to go before the First Night, I rang the RAH on Friday last to ask if my Season Pass had been sent. I was told that the required passport photos had been processed for my card, but it had not yet been posted. "If you haven't got the by pass by the end of next week, call us again."
This really isn't good enough. They processed my credit card rapidly enough, back on the 19th May. Suppose I was going to be away on holiday until the beginning of the season, only to return and find that nothing had turned up? It seems to be the general rule these days that once they've got your money there's no need to work too hard.

Today's the day...
... when I made a tactical strike for seats at one of the Proms I want to go to, and was able (using the 'select your own seat' facility) to cherry-pick two perfectly-situated front side-stalls seats for the Foulds Mantras and Messiaen Turangalîla
.
If on the BBC Proms page, it says 'Seats no longer available, returns only', it's still worth clicking through - e.g. Prom 4 (LvB#9) was sold out but if you try now, there are several nice stalls options available...."...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Are those good seats to get the best from the concert - or just the seats to be seen in??
I suspect everyone's different but the key for my ears is (taking the organ to be 12 on the clock face) to be no further away than 3 or 9 o'clock. Ten-to and ten-past is as good as one can get sonically imo. That's why I'm only interested in 'select your own' options - and give the insane 'first day, have what you're given' rush a big miss..."...the isle is full of noises,
