    "Recent stuff" ?
And what makes you think that all music is organised into "bars" anyway?

Particularly looking forward to the Jolas. She is much underplayed for such a fine composer. I wonder what PB thinks of the Notations arrangements?

          Hmmm

A marriage made in Heaven? Or a disastrous mistake?

Certainly a performance that I will not miss.
Certainly a target that Sir Simon should set his sights on. I can't think of any other move that would be upwards from the Berlin Philharmonic.

He'd have to get them to tear up their constitution - they operate without a chief conductor / music director.

For heaven's sake cheer up all of you !
Every year the same curmudgeons trot out their pet complaints.

Sit back and enjoy them at home or, if you can, join me standing in the Arena, but stop moaning!

A little less self righteousness would be welcome.

Come, come, ferret, how are you defining 'self-righteousness?

Moaning is part of the new Proms season, isn't it?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I'm looking forward to hearing the Beethoven Concertos / Stravinsky

                  ... and indeed the Prokofievathon

Half the fun is the traditional moaning!

I suppose you'd like to do away with the piano-hoisting ritual, too?

                        A little moan.
A little less Beethoven,Mahler and Sibelius.
A little more Weinberg,Leighton and Ferneyhough.

                          Dear Pot,

                          It would, indeed.

                          Yours sincerely

And what better way to celebrate St George's day than with a right old whingefest?

                                And to cheer up Ferretf:

It’s Proms announcement time again. See below for the definitive list of new music in this year’s festival, or follow  #promsnewmusic on Twitter. Some brief observations. Last year it w…

It’s that time again; the 2015 Proms season has today been unveiled, and once again offers more than a few treats for lovers of new music. That’s putting it extremely mildly; in truth, the amount of contemporary music in this year’s concerts is actually rather jaw-dropping, with no fewer than…
