Btw, the applications for the new director closed on 23 Feb - did anyone here apply?It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I heard the Proms will be same old same old this year.
Loadsa Beethoven,Mahler and maybe Sibelius.
Some never to be heard again new works.
The odd neglected British symphony to try to appease....well...me

I do enjoy BSP's assiduous detective work in ferretting out those nuggets of information as to what, and who (or should it be whom?) might be appearing at the Proms.
