Yes, very poor reception on BBC2 Freeview. At one pont my Marantz Tuner switched itself off - not sure if there's a link though.

Anyone else now finding picture and sound on HD not synchronised? I've switched to normal BBC1 which seems ok.

Just heard the violin duo encore by Janine Jansen and Sakari Oramo, variations on 'La Cucaracha', which traces back to Sean Rafferty's question to SO during the pre-taped interval about whether he'd play the violin again at The Proms, following their Chamber Prom. Nice to see SO getting into the spirit. Cracking rendition of Tzigane from JJ before-hand, with perhaps one moment that threatened to go off the rails, but given the craziness of the violin part, one is well below part for the course. Credit to the audience for actually behaving during the Ravel, especially given that it's the 2nd half. At the start, you can read the use of the 'Sabre Dance' as being a tribute to principal timpanist John Chimes, as this is his final concert with the BBC SO.

Will someone please tell the bbc that all the 'hello' rubbish doesn't work? Either on tv, or in the hall. It's just embarrassing.

Mrs. PG and I had to turn off the Mary Poppins bit 'cause 'feed the birds' always makes us cry! (One of the few pieces of music that does!)

I'm crying as well but for different reasons.

My non musical brother has just texted to say he can't believe what he's seeing.

                It's a sad day.

Can anyone explain why Roderick Williams was able to sing Old Man River without a hint of a microphone, while Ms Watts had a microphone the size of a Big Mac for the much gentler Feed the Birds? Is she trying to emulate Katherine Jenkins in Glasgow?

It wasn't Elisabeth Watts singing Feed the birds, it was Ruthie Henshall. (Ex girlfriend of HRH The Prince Edward no less!)

Was a bit puzzled since she's not credited in the Radio Times!

I'd rather be listening to Jimi Hendrix,so I am.
Not sure how you guys can bear to watch LNOP.

I think by now everyone knows it's Britannia rule the waves, but you still get a sort of muddle in the next bit because the people who are too mean to buy programmes still think it's Britons never shall be slaves.
