If someone could convince him to talk a little slower, he would be one of the best presenters on R3 IMVHO

TS is unquestionably knowledgeable, unlike his accomplice, but does he really have to copy Nige? It was bad enough with Charles H. On radio, it doesn't matter, but I'm afraid it does on television.

        - and stop him from adding footnotes to what his interviwees are saying, so that a straightforward comment like "We played the Franck Sonata at Wigmore last week" becomes "We played the Franck [CesarFranckBelgiancomposer1822-1890] Sonata [theSonataforViolinandPianoinAmajorfrom1886justfour yearsbeforehediedarrangedforcellobyFrenchcellistJu lesDelsart1844-1900] at Wigmore [theWigmoreHallinLondonawell-knownvenueforChamberMusic] last week [thesevendayperiodpriortothisone]".

He's a bright guy who writes very well and could offer so much real insight - and Lento is absolutely correct, his enthusiasm and insights should make him one of the glories of R3.

He used to be so good. That's why I use the word 'affected'. Service cru was great.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
