    The Beethoven too fast? Hmm. Why is it these modern conductors seem to think that Beethoven new what he was doing in terms of the tempi he notated? Clearly he had not a clue about such matters and it took Wagner too correct Beethoven's crass ideas about tempi.

      That's very interesting! But there is scarce a second of "space" at either the beginning or the end. The music starts the instant you click "play", and the clip stops the instant the music finishes. Which is not very pleasant.

        Has anyone listened to 'Magma' again? I've just sneaked a recording of it during a third hearing and think it's very enjoyable.

        I sympathised with Ferret on hearing it in the hall but the recording reveals all the great syncopation. It's a playful, songful peace and well worth a hearing.
