The order hasn't changed on the BBC Radio 3 website. My guess is that it probably confirms my belief that continuity announcers have their brains missing when they make their little speeches. Sometimes these announcements come from people who we know to be highly intelligent and musically perceptive, but perhaps they become self-conscious when reading such insincere gush, and lost the will to live themselves.Originally posted by Caliban View Post

Avoiding the temptation to say "just about everything", I'll content myself with "Me; that's what's wrong with the Eighth Symphony. In spite of my four recordings (Barbirolli, Boult, Handley and Haitink) and frequent attempts at other performances and recordings, I cannot hear this work as anything other than a collection of individual movements, each with its individual "moment", but lacking the jaw-dropping craftsmanship and intensity of the composer's finest work.)Originally posted by Pulcinella View Post
