I've been pretty well everywhere in the RAH for a Prom except the Gallery. I was in the topmost row of the choir stage left as you look at it for the Covent Garden Walküre with Domingo in 2005 and can agree with Am51 that the sound is surprisingly good. Voices were perfectly audible even above the Wagnerian tumult which was another surprise as they would probably have been hard to detect from the stalls such is the peculiarity of the hall's acoustics.

Sitting at the topmost row, I did wonder how those huge choirs manage to stay together from such a dizzy height. Which reminds me: don't go up there if you suffer from vertigo!

I remember that night as being, according to the weather people, the hottest night time temperature recorded in London (21 degrees, I think). I listened on Radio 3 and it was pretty darn hot here as well. Great days.
