Do I listen to this, or do I give it a miss, even though it's only the 2nd Prom?

Well I'm taking a book and a cold drink into the garden. It's more tolerable now than it's been all day. I need to watch my blood pressure too: calling this sort of stuff a Prom will do it no good at all.

Rather a good description of the Prom audience just now, from one of the programme's alien regulars: "I am surrounded by human scum. Some of them are standing, ready for battle. The majority are resting their weak and feeble bodies on... (utmost disdain) seats".

I've spent the last hour planting shrubs, now that it's cooled down a bit. As you say, it's better for general well-being. As far as the Prom is concerned, I don't know what they hope to achieve. Profit, possibly?

How about introducing a young audience to the idea of live concerts?

But do young people need to be patronised?

Certainly not. But I heard no patronisation is tonight's concert.

I'm in the same position. When it began I was just about too old for children's programmes - and that also applied when it was revived. I've never quite understood the obsession some adults have for it. I recognise the original theme music and I know that William Hartnell was once Dr Who - and that's the extent of my knowledge. And wasn't there a catchphrase about "Exterminate" or something?

Dress-rehearsals for the semi-staged 'Ring' have started early... (Don't you just hate these bloody 'Konzept' directors? )

So come on - which scene is that? That has to be Hagen on the right, correct?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Well, you won't, will you? If you're "in the same position" as Edgey and have "never ever watched" it.

I'm new to Die Tardis der Zeit Lords. My German doesn't run to "sonic screwdriver" but Google Translate comes up with Der Sonic Schraubendreher der Zeit Lords...

I tuned in for half-an-hour - by the sound of it everybody was thoroughly enjoying themselves

                                (tut-tut)
