    Queueing system

    ...doesn't appear to be working

I think it is (sort of), just very heavily loaded so it's not easy to get into the queue at all.

Due to bad experiences in the past I now ensure I have two computers with two unrelated connections to the internet to go through this scrum. Currently, one can't get me into the queue, one has succeeded.

Thks Simon B - did you reload the page or did it refresh automatically to put you in the queue?

Logged in at number 437. By 9.19 all tickets for ten Proms booked and paid for.

          Good luck to you all.

For future reference, what time did you log on? Did they start the queue before 9? The instructions suggested they didn't.

The queue seems to be moving by about a thousand in 15 minutes. Not bad!

But I still can't get in Did you stay on the busy page Vodka? or come out and go back in?

All done by 09:30 - the first time for me that it hasn't been an utter nightmare involving getting booted out of the system just when I thought it was all sorted.

I got into the queue at pretty much exactly 09:00 via constantly retrying each time I got "website full" or whatever. Due to previous bad experiences and fairly deep techy knowledge I had two parallel systems and some perl scripts to help me do this...

                  By far the most I've ever paid for the least concerts (Proms 1, 14, 15, 18, 20, 30, 31, 35, 55, 57) though - blame all that Wagner I suppose.

I kept going in and out, until it eventually got into the queue. I don't think you can stay on the Busy page and get in from there.

Thanks. This is why I didn't attend last year

Norrette (and any once else) - you've got to keep going back to the main royalalberthall page and keep hitting the "buy proms tickets" or "submit my proms planner" (or whatever they're exactly called). If you stay on the busy page nothing will happen.

More efficiently, if you understand what I mean by this and how to do it, put the URL "http://www.royalalberthall.com/tickets/proms.aspx" (without the quotation marks) on a bookmark or a bookmark tab and keep hitting that over and over.

Thks Simon, yes that's what I've been doing - cleared my cache...whatever - maybe they don't like my IP address.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments

It seems exceptionally busy - trying to get back in to see if I can get some on my "could prom instead, as less than 5 hours long" list (!) now, and after several hundred attempts, can't get past "Website Full" which isn't the experience of previous years.

Maybe the "Wagner crowd" have descended in their hordes - I'm not one (honest guv!), even though it turns out I will now be able to go to the Ring...
