    It might be true for any piece with a boy's voice singing religious texts, but otherwise... Luc Ferrari's pieces with children's voices don't remind me of Stockhausen at all, for example. (I guess Bagpuss would have been considered pretty avantgarde in the mid-50s. ) Well, maybe "overplayed" is an exaggeration - how about "wheeled out because the programmers don't bother to think what else might be around"?

        I would recommend the Xenakis piece to anyone who's of the opinion that non-tonal music has no "logic". Everything that happens in this piece is a clear consequence of what comes before - not the only possible consequence to be sure, but after all we live in a world governed by quantum physics rather than divine prescription.
        Couldn't put it better myself (and certainly didn't).
