I think you should come round here for that pint of Wallop's Wood, ts. Around 7.30 tomorrow night suit you?
sounds like my best offer so far , KB!! whats on the turntable?...or shall I bring something as you have got the beer in......i have some choice Haydn and Mozart SQs needing a first spin, or possibly some oysterband and June Tabor in the post tomorrow if the postie is behaving.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
Rather relieved to hear from some like-minded posters. I don't begrudge people their fun, if that's what they like, but it's got little to do with 'classical' music-making IMV. I can't help feeling, too, that the whole fandango of the last night taints the rest of the season: could this vulgarisation of a great music festival be connected with the lowering of standards bemoaned on other proms threads - mobile phones going off, unrestrained coughing, clinking glasses etc?

It's been going on far too long for that - more a relic, I'd say.
I concur almost wholeheartedly. I like hearing a crowd singing Jerusalem. I shall record and watch that. Otherwise, the prog looks a shocker.
Wishing you a pleasant evening, vindecoteaux-du-layon

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
