Online booking sounds a nightmare but what about by phone? Admittedly you'll still be in queue but at least your connection won't fail. Anyone tried by phone? Proms page says:
From 9.00am on Saturday 12 May, call the Royal Albert Hall Box Office on 0845 401 5040 (open 9.00am–9.00pm daily)

I thought that was actually relatively painless this morning, 10 minutes to get in the waiting room, 70 minutes of queuing and tickets purchased without incident, much easier than I had anticipated for once!
Mind you I was only interested in 3 proms. The RVW symphonies (my top priority), the Bernstein Mass (yes I actually like this fascinating work) and the Howells/Elgar prom as I adore Hymnus Paridisi.Last edited by Suffolkcoastal; 12-05-12, 10:22.

Seems a longer queue than previous years, 10 minutes to waiting room, 75 minutes to queue, but got all seats including Berlin Philharmonic and VPO. Good luck to everyone else.

same number of tickets, same number of concerts....same number of people. (all roughly of course).
Luckily for me I am happy Promming, but people trying to buy specific tickets must be very irritable, and have my sympathy.
(but if anybody has spare seats for the VW 3 sympphonies, fell free to PM me !!)
good luck all .
I've now got a number ...... 4590, so we might end up with prom or nothing.

So all things considered, what's the best thing to do, to avoid the said crock. Online or phone?
