        Ooooh matron!
The dangers of posting too quickly! I'll leave it as it stands.

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Yes indeed - I specialise in the obvious, augmented with a bit of toilet.

'Any time we spotted a double-entendre, we'd whip it out!' - The late, great Kenneth Williams on the making of Carry on Films.

Stick on Film 4 while waiting for the Proms queue (I'm 1560 after 30 mins ): "Carry on Cabbie" just started... Double entendre a minute

Liz Fraser: Don't you touch that
Kenneth Connor: That's not what you said in the cinema the other night
Liz Fraser: You wanted to pinch my walnut crackle!
Kenneth Connor: I bloomin' nearly did as well

                        (1429... )

PS Great 'light music' main theme to the film too - by Eric Rogers, harmonica led, Larry Adler or Tommy Reilly?

About a 2 hour wait, then many refusals to accept password (I thought it never would, but it eventually happened OK), then I found there were only tickets in my chosen places for one of the concerts (CBSO Leningrad Symphony). Accepted inferior seats (but saved money on the amount I was prepared to spend) for the other three (Bernstein Mass, Apostles and second Berlin Philharmoniker concert). At least I've got seats for my chosen four concerts (yes, I do like the spectacular stuff!).

And a problem getting my credit card number recognised at the end! Not really a very smooth operation, but better than holding a phone or standing in a queue for hours, I suppose.

Carry On Cabby was the last film made by the most excellent Esma Cannon ....

Ms Cannon is in the rightmost fifth of the above photo
